service users with mild-moderate intellectual disabilities. Your new
company is looking for candidates who are committed to supporting
people with intellectual disabilities and their families, in a person
centred, community based, socially inclusive manner in accordance with
their core values and national standards, and underpinned by quality,
best practice and research.
YOUR NEW ROLE
A the new Social Care Worker you will act as the support and care
worker to people referred to the house. This role is temporarily a
**Apply on the website** month contract and with HSE approval will be
extended to a permanent full time position. You will contribute to an
assessment of needs, thereafter, implementing aspects of Placement,
Behaviour Support (BSP), and Individual Crisis Management (ICMP) Plans
that will help meet assessed needs. You will use the Model of Care to
promote new independent skills to people and manage behaviours that
challenge. You will undertake appropriate actions to connect the
person with local resources. You will network with local providers and
liaise closely with families, and referral agencies. This post will
involve evening, weekend and residential shift working arrangements.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
To be successful as a Social Care Worker in your new role you will
have:
* Level 7+ Degree in Social Care or Applied Social Studies; Applied
Social Science; Applied Social Studies in Social Care; Social Care
Practice; Nursing; Psychiatric Nursing; Psychology; Teaching; Youth
and Community Work
* A full, clean, manual driving license, valid in Ireland
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Knowledge of the key elements of effective team working
* Knowledge of the National Standards for Adults in Residential
Centres and the Health Care Act
* Experience of working with adults with intellectual disabilities
and supported needs.
